I grew up with an oversized head and a passion for design. I’ve had a very specific style since I was a child which made buying clothing hard for anyone thats not me. Buying a hat for me that fits AND I like is nearly impossible.
I went to school for design and ended up at pretty cool tech company here in the Bay Area, California. The job was great but I never felt completely fulfilled working for someone else so I decided to move on from it without any real plan. All I knew is that I wanted to be my own boss and that I needed to use some skills I already had.
A few months into funemployment I decided that e-commerce could be a nice blend of design (branding) and my internet skills thanks to growing up with a computer. I decided that I needed to learn the ropes of selling online so I found a product that was cheap to manufacture so that if it didnt work out, I wouldn’t be in a big hole. As an avid tennis player I decided that I could make tennis accessories and sell them on amazon. This is where I learned all of the basics of e-commerce like designing, sourcing, marketing and selling on Amazon. I am actually still selling these products but they ultimately didnt keep me interested in expanding upon.
A year into this I realized how tired I was of buying these really cool Snapback hats only to have them look stretched out and shallow fitting on my head. That’s when I decided it was time to use my new found knowledge to create a hat company for other people like myself.
It’s been 2 years since I had the idea to where Im at today and its been a rewarding experience but a lot of work. I take pride in the amount of work I put in to get it here. The longest part of the journey has been to find factories that can make hats that live up to my high standards. I’ve filtered out over 30 factories and have had countless samples done to get the hat to where its at today.
The hats I sell here at Mammoth Headwear are the byproduct of my obsession for quality. I want to thank you for your trust in me when buying these hats for your big head. If you have any comments, ideas or feedback, please reach out to me at
